Some browser arcades are flashy but lack substance. What I’m after is gameplay where the controls are responsive, difficulty builds naturally, and the mechanics add layers over time. Anyone know of examples?

I’ve seen that too—most look fun for five minutes, but only a few actually hold attention. The key is how the mechanics interact: decoy pulling enemies away, shield bouncing them back, or skulls clearing the map entirely. Those create strategy moments mid-run. In terms of polish, IndexMen gameplay shows how this can work—simple at first, but with depth that grows as you chase higher scores. One tip: track how often you survive without relying on skulls—that’s the sign of real skill progression.
