What is AxiomEmu?

AxiomEmu is a Season 6 MU Online server package engineered from the ground up rather than patched on top of the usual leaked builds. We took 5.2 client as base and 6.3 GameServer and started building/stripping everything.

The goal is simple: modern server files that actually hold up - crash-safe persistence (chaos Mixes, Trades, Shop purchases) so nobody loses items to a server hiccup, GameData Sync to replace .bmd editing, configs live on the server instead of being duplicated in every client, a decoupled frame rate, the built in auto-updater with launcher (you can configure one like you want), XShop and Gold Channel already wired in, fully working MuHelper and real documentation for every system.

We are happy to announce, that V1 was released and we are already working on the V2, while patching and fixing minor issues.

Inside you will find a bunch of features that are required to run modern MuOnline server, together with some unique featurs that are available only on AxiomEmu.

Skill Speed Validation
Built-in anti-cheat validates every skill cast server-side. Per-skill speed scaling, progressive punishment for violators, and timing config synced to the client - your server enforces fair play out of the box.

GameData Sync
Configure once on the server, data syncs to all clients automatically. No more maintaining duplicate configuration files in the client & server. Skills, Moves, Chaos Mixes, Item Options - anything.

Persistent Everything
Trade windows, Chaos Machine, personal store - every inventory interaction is persisted to the database in real time. Crashes and disconnects never lose player items. You can even close the Chaos machine
interface and go about your day, items will be there on the next open.

Custom Shop System
Configure shops with custom currency types - Zen, Goblin Points, WCoins, or WCoin Cash. Set duration-based items that expire after a configurable time, perfect for temporary buffs or rental gear. You control buy and sell prices independently per item. All managed through XML, no code changes needed.

All shops support pagination, meaning you can have up to 8 pages on any NPC shop.

Extended Chaos Mixing
All 100+ original Chaos Machine recipes are fully configurable server-side - success rates, required items, and rewards. No client changes needed. The Item Bag system lets you override any mix reward with a custom loot pool that drops multiple items per mix, something no other emulator supports. One bag can reward a wing, a jewel, and zen all at once.

Creating new chaos mixes was never easier, than with AxiomEmu.

A few features that I forgot to highlight in the original post that seem important:

  • Rendering engine stops when minimized to the tray - meaning that Helper runs on server tick, but GPU & CPU usage is near-zero
  • MuHelper has Offline mode that wires into OffAttack - meaning that you can control this via the MuHelper interface
  • Wings Damage and Defense are configurable via Items.xml with full sync to the client
  • Item Stacking works for both regular inventory and chaos machine mixes - no need to split stacks before mixing
  • Built-in Graphics/Anti-Lag settings panel, where you can disable rendering of separate systems, change resolution & effect level
  • All Options and Item attributes can go as high as 65k
  • GameServer and Client max stats & numbers fully converted to 64-bit, so theoretical max stats are ~2M from 32k
  • Zen maximum amounts also converted to the 64-bit system, which allows maximum zen to be 9,000,000,000,000,000,000 (configurable in the client - maximum amounts for inventory, trade, warehouse, personal store, etc.)
  • Personal Store supports 4 currencies: Jewel of Chaos, Jewel of Bless, Jewel of Soul, Zen
  • You can change/assign any option for Excellent items or any Option slot and it will automatically show in the client as well, for example changing any excl. Option to be Triple Damage.

We've had the biggest feature update since launch - 1.0.4 release.

Full patch notes

- Not spent LevelUp points are now preserved when character resets
- MuHelper + OffLine now performs auto resets if enabled in the helper (OffHelper still does not work)
- Name clipping in Sell (last letter) and trade (first letter) are fixed
- TrainerNPC (dark horse/raven revive chaos mix) now preserves items if window is closed (in line with all other chaos mix interfaces)
- HelperExperience is now % in the Common.dat was a bug where it was multiplicative value (bad design)
- MuHelper now does not attack party members as valid targets
- Added ability to "simulate" chaos mix rolls (in config) so it can simulate up to X (configured) amount of mixes when you perform one.
- Added ability to disable the DataSync logs (they pile up FAST in production)
- CPU usage of GS/CS/DS/JS is improved, greatly, after testing initially it was 100% cpu for GS with 100 players (on 3vCores).
  - Optimized Viewport request & lookup, inter binaries communications and optimzide ohter inneficient loops
  - Refactored single mutex architecture
- items purchased from NPC shops were not giving any stats untill relog, now fixed, was problem with durability.
- Post command colours can be changed now (Same as Sell Post)
- Complete refactor of ChaosMix, entire legacy system deprecation, only plugin now controlls rates/recipes/formulas - everything, no legacy fall through.
  - All chaos mix intefaces now display zen & succes (including chaos cards, cherry blossom, lucky items)
  - Now logs consumed items and all the relevant information for the Mix for the admins
- Fix issue where non 380 item could be put in the chaos mix interface and "combined" losing the jewels, the mix is rejected now
  - Both server reject + Client filter
- Complete refactor of Invasions Manager
  - Now each invasion is configured by it`s own file with extended configuration

- Fix flickering blue notice message in events (about state of event)
- Shift click on the arrow in the Jewel bank will attempt to perform action on 10x the amount (or maximum you have if it`s lower - there now is tooltip as well)
- MuHelper & Reset Window input boxes now dont consume esc. clicks and can be put out of focus by clicking on any UI eleemnt.
- New Reset Window with auto reset button
  - Stats ditribution inputs when reset is done are in the same window
  - All numbers in reset panel are formatted with ","
  - Cleanup of old Reset system, remove configs/functionality that is no more valid/working, all reset actions are now routed trough the plugin architecture
- Add stats pop up window
  - With auto add target functionality
- Fix hardcoded amount of VIP tabs & their names (reads from the server config now)
- Fix VIP menu button in the (U) menu not working
- Improve FPS for shops/inventory
- Invasion hud now fits up to 16 event rows in one page (instead of 8)
- Fix bug with invasion ending policy (now has one more - Never, meaning that it ends when timer runs out)

We are striving on making the smoothest base game experience in V1. Whereas V2 will be content updates on the solid foundation. GameServer performance was significantly upgraded, few old inefficient networking algorithm re-written, in result realistic playable experience is ~200-250 online players on 3-4vCPU and 8GB machine is possible now.

- CashShop Editor baked into AxiomEditor
- Fixed an issue where keyboard keys were queued, cascading to other apps, creating a lag when buttons were pressed
- Fix CustomItemVisuals
  - Arrows effect override was broken
  - Rage Fighter weapons were not recognized as gloves/proper weapons
    - Now properly recognized L/R variants
  - Added support for capes that have no animation (they are now using default cape cloth simulations + custom texture)
- Jewel of Life options are now randomly picked (if multiple are defined in the ItemOption.xml with 16-32 bits etc.)
- Add toggle to the GameServer - Common.dat allowing to keep item bonuses when item is equipped but requirements are not met
- Add ability to edit WC,WCC,GP to the AxiomEditor
- Effects can now be canceled in the client via right click (Data driven from Effect.xml)
- Improve LevelUp Points addiiton pop up UI/UX (added messages, autofocus, improved hint text)
- Fix Data type for the Hunting Log Experience (it was capping at 4B, now same as zen - theoretical max is way higher than possible in usual gameplay)
- Added FPS limiter, so players can limit their FPS themselves in System settings -> Graphics -> Render
- Rework experience bar to not stack, and display absolute %, meaning that current experience bar shows how much character progressed through the level.
- Fixed issue where character would not level up when monster gave more experience than it needs to level up. (proper experience carry over to the next levelc)
- Add configuration to MapManager.xml to support per map / per IP pk limit (Configured for each map separately)
- Max connections count now is properly checked
  - previously max connection count would get exhausted and would not allow player to connect, now it has "headrom" where it allows to connect to the "connected" accounts
  while dropping only new connections.
- Improved reconnecting
  - When game is minimized to the tray now reconnect works automatically, no need to re-open the game for connect step
- When game is minimized to the taskbar state (not via F12 - regular minimize) the rendering engine stops as well, saving resources
- Right click -> Sell item in the shop implemented
  - Alt + right click will force sell item without confirmation
  - When selling expensive item, pressing"Enter" will map to OK, so you don't have to move cursor to the pop up window
- Full offline helper implemented, a replica of MuHelper but offline mode (might have visual glitches for other players, that will be ironed out over time)
